Holy crap you guys!
For the first time in my life I have met a fitness goal!
I realize that's totally depressing and pathetic, but right now I am too excited to care!
I read early on in my pregnancy that moderate walking (30 minutes, 3 or more times a week) can…
◦ Boost your energy
◦ Help you sleep better
◦ Reduce pregnancy discomfort
◦ Help prepare your body for childbirth
◦ Reduce stress & lift your spirits
◦ Improve your self-image {majorly important during pregnancy}
◦ Help get your body back faster after pregnancy

Shortly after finding out I was pregnant (back in March) I decided to set a goal to walk 250 miles during my pregnancy. I wanted to set an attainable goal but one that would push me, and let me tell you these past two months with a big belly and during those super hot summer months this goal has definitely pushed me! It would have been WAY easier (and frankly more enjoyable) to just lounge on the couch all pregnancy long but I am so glad I didn’t. I really think that walking several times a week has helped me keep my weight gain in check as well as forced to me to get some much needed fresh air.
It took a lot of lunchtime walks around Lake Calhoun and dinnertime walks around the neighborhood with Bailey, but I am so proud of myself for getting out, getting some exercise and achieving a goal!
I have 28 days left until my due date and have walked a total of 252.71 miles!
I did it!
Wahoo!
I am so proud of you Kristin!! I hear it helps make delivery so much easier and then also losing the baby weight!
ReplyDeleteCongrats! that's awesome! I know how you struggled a bit at the beginning with how you were feeling, and I got the sense through your posts that it certainly lifted your spirits-- there's the added health benefits too obviously. but way to go!

ReplyDeleteWay to go Kristin! Achieving a goal is such a great feeling! Be proud of yourself and enjoy a little something for yourself- my choice would be ice cream :)
ReplyDeleteKristin! That's awesome! Way to go!! So 8 months... right?! That's more than enough time to start a habit. Do you feel like you'll keep going after the baby?! What app do you use? I love the charts! Especially the lbs and donuts burned. 106 donuts! You go girl. :)
