10 Things I Love....

Last week my BB tagged me in this cute little blog game, and I am finally getting around to it. First, there are 3 simple rules:

1. SUMMER!
It's my favorite season! I love the HOT weather, I love being out on the boat, I love going to Twin's games, I love grilling, I love going to Canterbury for the horse races, I love the State Fair, I love it all!


2. BRITNEY SPEARS
I really am obsessed. I love old Brit, new Brit, crazy Brit, hot Brit...doesn't matter! She is amazing.


3. JASON.
I realize it's totally cheating, but if I'm thinking of things I love he is the first thing that comes to mind.....so I felt like I was cheating if I DIDN'T put him on this list. awwwww! right?


4. JIMMY CHOO
Yup! LOVE! Love the shoes, love the bags, love the new fragrance, love my wedding shoes, LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE!




5. FRIENDS
I love both my friends and the show friends....equally. Just Kidding, kinda. I am blessed to have AMAZING friends, they're funny, supportive, crazy, beautiful, caring, crazy, fun and crazy! I also really, really, really love the show Friends. Just ask my friends, they'll tell you what a Friends spaz I am!


6. NEW YORK CITY!
The Big Apple is my favorite place on earth! I love everything about it. I would LOVE to live there some day (if I could ever talk my fiance in to it), but for now I have to settle for visiting as often as I possibly can. I absolutely LOVE, LOVE, LOVE it.


7. FACIALS
Relaxing. Amazing.


8. GOPHER FOOTBALL
I went to school at the University of Minnesota and I bleed Maroon & Gold. I am a die hard Gopher fan, I love to tailgate and cheer on my team at our new stadium (even though we don't win much).


9. TANNING
Bed, beach or pool...doesn't matter. I love when my skin is warm and I love when my skin is brown. But, don't worry, I'm careful!


10. PUGGLES
They are the cutest dogs in the entire world. And my baby, Bailey, just happens to be the cutest of them all.

Bunny Hop

Omigosh! I had the best Easter ever! For those of you new followers, J and I have 8 parents between the two of us....ever seen the movie Four Christmases? That's our life. Holidays are crazy, we're always rushing around trying to see as many people as we can. This Easter we decided to do the holiday with just us and let me tell you, it was amazing!

We started the day by going to church at Lake of the Isles, the church where we will be married in just over 6 months!!! I had checked the website earlier in the week and found they had services at 8:30am and 11:30am, so I was pumped because we could still sleep in and enjoy our morning off but also make it to church. Well, whether I read it wrong or it was posted wrong something got mixed up and it turns out service started at 10:30. We walked in, sang two songs, took communion and then it was done. I was bummed, but it was hilarious and at least we made the effort!


After church we went to our favorite restaurant, Tony's Diner for brunch! Tony's is on the U of M campus and was a frequent stop for me in college. Since then, J has grown to love it and they owner (Tony) has become a friend. I got a delicious Mediterranean Omelet with Hash Browns and J got a Gyro (random, I know). Then Tony brought us some Blueberry Pancakes for "dessert." Let me tell you...I LOVE BLUEBERRY PANCAKES! And, besides my Grandma Alice's pancakes these were the best I've ever had! Sooo delicious! THANKS TONY! :)




After we ate, we went to see Water for Elephants! IT WAS SO GOOD! I read the book just a couple of months ago, so it was really fresh in my mind. The filmmakers did an amazing job of sticking really close to the book. As always, they couldn't pack in every detail from the book but they followed it really closely and I was so impressed! Whether you've read the book or not you need to go see this movie! J wasn't thrilled about seeing the movie but ended up really liking it....so pass that on to your boys and go see it! So good!


After the movie we ran home to change our clothes, grab our baby and head to the dog park. It was a GORGEOUS day and I'm so glad we got out to enjoy it! We walked the path to get a little work out and Bailey had a great time running and playing with the dogs and sniffing everything in sight.


After the dog park all three of us took a much needed nap. I had plans to make a nice Greek meal for dinner but didn't consider the fact that the grocery stores would be closed. So after searching for somewhere to get food I finally decided to stop at one of our hangouts, Champps, to pick up some dinner. I walked in and who did I find having a drink at the bar? My dad and step-mom! So I joined them for a glass of vino, grabbed our dinner and then spent the rest of the night catching up on Castle---you all know how much I love my Castle!


It was seriously the BEST day! I hope you all had a wonderful holiday as well!

Me Time

I am home from Arizona. I had a fabulous time. It was exactly what I needed after a really busy, really long and really cold winter.

I stayed in the guest house aka "the casita" and was absolutely loving it up. I adore my fiance but it was really wonderful to have some time to myself. Sleep in a big comfy bed, watch whatever TV and movies I want and just lounge around.




I got in Saturday night and my wonderful mother must have read THIS blog post because the casita was stocked with all my favorite things:

And tons of magazines!!!


I spent each day laying by the pool,

and each night hanging out with my mom and step-dad.

The first night we went straight from the airport to their favorite restaurant, Mastro's, which is an amazing steakhouse. I got the Filet Oscar, but there they put an entire crab cake on top opposed to just the lump crab...O-M-G. It was to die for!

Sunday after the pool, my mom and I did a little shopping. I've never been a lipstick-wearer, in fact I rarely have any color on my lips, but after our engagement shoot (I had lip color on) I really liked how it looked. I picked up some Rouge Double Intensite by Chanel and absolutely love it!

I got it in Rose Agate, so it's a nice neutral color, nothing too flashy! It's a lip stain so it lasts for hours and the gloss isn't too sticky, so I love it! After shopping we stopped by Zinc Bistro for a lovely glass of wine. Then, we headed back to the house and had a pre-dinner martini

then went to Gianfranco's for a nice big pasta dinner!

Monday was another day by the pool followed by Happy Hour at Sapporo, which was amazing. I had a fabulous Mago Mai Tai and incredible sushi!

On the way home, we couldn't resist stopping by Mastro's again, this time we just got a drink, even though I easily could have downed another Filet Oscar. After our beverage we went to Jade Palace to pick up some Chinese food. My mom and I instantly made friends with the manager and after about two minutes found ourselves taking Sake Bombs with him! Nothing like pounding a quick drink while waiting for your take out!

Oh Hugh!

Tuesday, I got an early start out by the pool and then went to Fashion Square for some more shopping, then my mom and I met up with Steve (my step-dad) and Stan (a close family friend) for some Mexican! We went to a local dive called Tee Pee's which had amazing margaritas and fabulous Mexican food. Once again my mom and I found ourselves taking free shots (how does that always happen to us?)


Wednesday I had an early flight to catch and was home in Minneapolis and back to work by 2:00pm. I had amazing time, and while the trip was too short, it was exactly what I needed. I got some me time, some sun and some quality time with my mama. From now until the wedding, J and I have a jam packed schedule; but I feel rested, relaxed and rejuvenated and I am ready to take on this crazy fun summer of ours!

I'm at the Phoenix airport, getting ready to head back to Minneapolis but I couldnt pass up a Wedding Wednesday! Especially when as of today we are officially under the 200 day mark! 199 days until the big day!
