my little nugget beeb.

Hi little nugget! It's your Aunty Beeb here!
I have a couple things to go over with you, and I figured your mommy's blog was as good a place as any. You'll learn quickly that I'm a talker, so hopefully you like my crazy ramblings as much as your mommy does.

Anyway... here it goes.

I think it's time to come out little one. Your mommy and daddy and all your family and friends are dying with excitement, and really... I'm sick of calling you nugget. You're going to be way too cute for that name, and I really just want to be able to call you K___ (whatever K name your mommy and daddy decided on... it's killing me not knowing!)

And those family and friends... we're a little crazy. You should know that ahead of time. We're crazy, but you'll love us. I promise you that you will grow up with the most love, laughter and fun a child could have. It may be over the top and more than a little ridiculous at times, but I promise, you're going to be SO LOVED.

Speaking of love. Your parents. They're the perfect example of love. They're literally perfect for each other, and I've seen first hand just how adorable they are. I can only imagine how cute you're going to be as a family of four.

While I'm on the topic of your happy little family... I should bring up Bailey. Be kind to that crazy puggle. She's a bundle of love and up until now, she's been the spoiled only child to your mommy and daddy. I'm guessing she'll love sharing the attention with her sweet little sister though. Expect the love to come in lots and lots of puggle kisses. And tail wagging. That dog is an EXPERT at puggle kisses and tail wagging.

I will do my best to infuse as much color (especially pink!) into your wardrobe as possible, but expect to be in a lot of white, grey, yellow and black. Except for Gopher games, then you'll be covered in maroon and gold. You'll learn to love it though. You're your mommy's daughter, and she bleeds maroon and gold,
so you will too.

Back to your mommy for a second. That woman. She's pretty amazing. She's one of the strongest, most caring and loyal people I've ever met, and I'm honored to call her one of my best friends. You got lucky in the mommy department. My suggestion... do what she says. If you follow her lead, you'll grow into quite the woman.

As for your dad, he may act tough, but he's one of the biggest softies around. I guarantee you will have him wrapped around your finger in no time. Just don't expect to get anything by him. He's pretty smart.

Just a couple more things, and then I'll be done. If you could make sure to be a super happy baby that sleeps through the night, eats well and makes life as easy as possible for your parents... I know they'd really appreciate it.

Oh and remember... Aunty Beeb is your favorite. :)

Love you nugget!

The Past 40 Weeks

The day is finally here, I have reached my due date! As I sit here and not-so-patiently wait for my Nugget to make her grand entrance, I think back to the past 40 weeks and can't believe how fast it's all gone. I don't think it's ever going to sink in that this is the end and any day now I could be holding my daughter for the first time.

Watching my belly {and boobs and butt and thighs and arms} grow has been quite an adventure. I will say it's not easy getting bigger and bigger and watching that number on the scale get higher and higher but it really has been quite incredible seeing my body change, especially knowing that it's all for my baby! I really can't get over how crazy this whole pregnancy thing is....it will forever blow my mind that it is even possible for all of this to happen. Nothing short of a miracle, for sure.

I think back to the day I saw that positive pregnancy test and though it feels like it was FOREVER ago, I can't believe that since that day I have grown a full-sized human baby. I remember that first ultrasound and seeing that little blip on the screen and now I can feel her foot, I know where her bony little butt is and any day now she will be in my arms....it's all just so incredible.

It's been 9 months filled with love, excitement and celebrations and while I won't miss the sore back, the food aversions and always being volunteered as the designated driver, I will miss the extra TLC from family, friends and even strangers and most of all will miss feeling my baby move inside of me. It's a feeling that is indescribable and is most definitely the best part of being pregnant. Selfishly, I will miss being the only one to have that connection with her, BUT, there's no doubt that I am ready to share this little princess with the world.

Any day now....

Anniversary Recap

The past week has been so fun which I am really appreciating because staying busy and having fun things to look forward to is the ONLY (and I mean ONLY) thing keeping me sane right now.

As our 1 year anniversary approached I knew that I really wanted to do something fun for Jason, something that he would really love. I had a bunch of gift ideas but when it comes down to it, my hubs gets WAY more excited about doing fun things then he does about new stuff. SO, I decided to attempt a surprise date for my man. I say "attempt" because Jason is IMPOSSIBLE to surprise. First of all, the boy is so dang nosy! Second of all, he can read me like a book and knows INSTANTLY when I'm up to something.
I'm still not really sure how, but I actually managed to surprise him.

We have both been SO wound up for this year's Timberwovles season. We've always been big fans but with the addition of some awesome new players we were more excited about this year than any of the previous years. It just so happened that the season opener was a home game on Friday, November 2nd (the weekend before our anniversary)...PERFECT! The only problem was the fact that I had NO control over when our baby would be arriving...so I didn't want to get tickets and then have her come and not be able to go to the game.

I decided to order Jason a new Timberwolves track jacket and make him a little coupon that told him I was taking him to one of our favorite restaurants (Runyons...best wings in Minnesota) and the game OR a post-baby game of his choosing. November 2nd finally arrived and with no signs of baby I got last minute tickets (with some help from my dad and his endless basketball connections), finalized my coupon and wrapped up the track jacket.
Jason was definitely surprised! I somehow managed to keep my mouth shut and not say a peep the entire week he was talking about the game. Best part of it was that Jason was trying to find tickets all week and wasn't able to! The T-wolves played a great game and WON and dinner at Runyon's was delicious as always!
I only took one darn picture the whole night, but here we are:

Apparently, great minds think alike because the week before our anniversary Jason asked me if I would be OK with him planning a special date as my gift...which, seeing as spending time with my hubby is my absolute favorite thing in life, I was fine with!

He refused to tell me a single detail about the date and I really had NO idea what he was up to. Monday (our anniversary) rolled around and he told me that he was going to drive me to work. So I woke up that morning, got ready for work as usual and then hopped in the car with my hubby, which I really loved! Then the boy took me to Starbucks (does he know how to start my day off on the right foot or what?)
Jason then came back for me at the end of my work day and off we went....to where...I had no idea. Jason brought me a snack for the ride because he knows I need to eat pretty much immediately after work,
which was so thoughtful but made me all kinds of confused as to where we could possibly going (I had assumed it was out to eat).

After about twenty minutes in the car he gave me a gift...
If you don't know this about me I am obsessed with animated Disney movies and Jason has been buying me all the new Blue-Ray editions as they come out.

Finally, after almost 45 minutes in the car and me being SO confused as to what was going on...we pulled up to our destination:
I have had the most insane sweet tooth during my pregnancy and literally cannot get enough candy...so the boy brought me to Minnesota's largest candy store! It was the most RANDOM place I've ever been to! It's not only a massive candy store but they carry random gifts and souvenirs, have a HUGE wall of different kinds of root beer and are also the largest puzzle store in the United States.
The place was HUGE and we spent about an hour and a half walking through looking at all the random stuff. Jason let me get whatever I wanted, so we walked out with a 6-pack of random kinds of root beer, Australian licorice, a tin of Marshmallow Hot Chocolate, Minnesota-made pure honey, Razzlers (remember those?!), Candy Cigarettes (loved those when I was a kid), Boston Fruit slices, an Apple Crisp (not pictured) and a puzzle!

After we made our way back to the city we stopped to get Chinese take out (my FAVORITE).

When we got home I was greeted with this fun surprise:
Flowers, Pumpkin scented candles (YUM!), another little gift, the top tier of our wedding cake and a super sweet card:

The other gift was a new pair of Gopher sweatpants which I so desperately needed and wanted and they are THEEE most comfortable sweatpants ever.
What a difference a year makes, huh?!

The rest of the night we spent snuggled next to the fire, watching Cinderella, doing a puzzle, eating Chinese, candy and wedding cake and drinking root beer.
It was the perfect night. Jason really thought of ONLY me when planning this date which was SO sweet and made it SO special.

I am so happy that Jason and I were able to spend some quality time together doing what each of us loves before the baby arrives. As much as I want her here, I am glad that we got to spend our first anniversary just the two of us.

Top Ten...Wedding Photos

I've decided to play a fun little game with myself on this here blog...I'm calling it Top Ten Tuesdays and every week I will treat you all to a different Top Ten list. I thought it might be a fun way for y'all to get to know me better and those of you who are lucky enough to know me in real life might just learn something new.

And, all you bloggers out there, if you want to play along...feel free! No link up, no button, just play if you want, but at least give me credit for the GENIUS idea. :)

Since our one year anniversary was yesterday, I thought today's "Top Ten Tuesday" topic would appropriately be my Top Ten Wedding Photos!

It took me an insanely long time to narrow these down because I have A LOT of favorites, but these are the ones that top the list.

#10.
I had so much fun the morning of my wedding hanging out with my sisters and best girlfriends! Part of their bridesmaid gift was personalized champagne glasses to toast with on the Big Day. This picture was taken right before we walked out the door to go see my groom.

#9.
I absolutely loved my wedding dress, but I think it was the little details all put together that really made me feel the most beautiful I've ever felt, which is why I love this picture so much. My bouquet was made up of my favorite flower - the calla lily and I added the Lymphoma pin for my bridesmaid, Courtney, who was battling Lymphoma at the time of the wedding {she's now 9 months in remission!}, the earrings were the same ones my mom wore on her wedding day, the hair clips and bracelet were random beauties I picked up along the way and the Jimmy Choos, well, you can read that story HERE!

#8.
This picture was from our first dance....and I love everything about it.

 #7.
My mama is gorgeous and there are some great pictures of the two of us from my wedding day, but this one is most certainly my favorite! Its says it all.

#6.
My dad isn't the most emotional guy but his role as Father-of-the-Bride really brought it out of him. I have some great pictures of us walking down the aisle and our father/daughter dance, but this one taken right after his amazing speech is my favorite.

 #5.
This photo is from our first look....can you see me walking towards J in the background? Jason looks so stinkin' cute in this picture and I love it so much.

 #4.
I have an 8x10 of this one framed in our bedroom, I love the color effect that Sara added to it, I love how my dress looks, I love J's shoes, I really love everything about it!

 #3.
Jason and I are so blessed to have such incredible friends and our wedding party was a BLAST. They're all crazy and that's why we love them. Our time with the wedding party after the ceremony was the most fun part of the day and this is my favorite picture of all of us.

 #2.
I absolutely ADORE this photo! Our brother and sister are on the left, our best man and maid of honor are on the right and my step-sister is in the corner. I love that we are surrounded by our favorite people in this pic, plus Jason's face is adorable!

#1.
This picture is definitely my favorite of the whole day. It's our first photo has husband and wife! While we both look blissfully happy (and we were) we were laughing because Sara (our photographer) jumped out of nowhere to snap this shot and we were both laughing at her.

One Year.

One year ago, I woke up in the guest room at my mom's house with just one thought running through my head,
"Today is my wedding day."
I got out of bed, took a shower and hopped in the car with my mom, my Jimmy Choos and my wedding dress and was off to meet my best friends.

One year ago, I spent the morning with the women I love most in the world; listening to music, getting pampered, eating, and drinking coffee... all the things we do best.

One year ago, I put on my wedding dress..

One year ago, I toasted to my wedding day with my sisters and best friends.

One year ago, I rode up an elevator and walked down a hall towards the man I would soon vow to spend my life with.

One year ago, I held onto my dad's arm as he walked me down the aisle and gave me away to the love of my life.

One year ago, I stood before God, my family, and my friends and said "I DO."

One year ago, I kissed my husband for the first time.

One year ago, was the best day of my life.

To my husband,
I don't know how I can properly thank you for the past year. We definitely started out with a bang! I am so excited for what life has in store for us and if this first year is any indication, it's going to be filled with lots of fun, surprises and love.
I love you so much and am so grateful to have you as my partner in crime for all of time.
One year down, forever to go.
