As of this coming Sunday, I will have a 19 month old {say what?} I am really loving this mid-year age range because I can get away with telling people she is "a year and a half" instead of using months and watching them get all confused trying to do math. That, and this is pretty much the most fun age ever! It's been MONTHS since I've done a Kenley update, so here's what my crazy kiddo is up to:

Weight: 26 pounds

Teeth: 12 pearly whites. The molars were really tough, now we're just waiting for those pointy ones to come in. Brushing her teeth is also the highlight of her day. She LOVES it!

Words: Kenley's vocab is increasing every day and it's SO FUN! Right now her words include : mom, dad, yia yia {grandma in Greek}, bob {which can mean Ball, BaBa (what we call her milk) or Auntie Bob (which is what she calls her Auntie Tate) depending on the context}, trash, wow, yes, yeah, no, up, done, gone, hi, shoes, socks, hat, hug. She can also make the animal sounds of a dog, pig, cow, lion, snake, owl, fish, and monkey.

Sleep: Bedtime is usually around 8:00 or 8:30pm and she sleeps until around 7:30 or 8:00am.

Eating: Fruits & Veggies. If this child never saw meat or grains on her plate she would be as happy as a clam. Tomatoes and blueberries top the list but she's also a big fan of cheese, olives and LOVES mustard. Seriously, she's such a little weirdo.

Diaper Size: size 4 or 2T in her Pampers Easy-Ups for potty training.

Clothes: A mix of 18 months, 24 months and 2T. Because she's so tall & skinny all of the 18 months fit perfect but are too short. The 24 month & 2T are perfect in the length but fall off her. She comes from a long line of long legged skinny butted people - so I'm afraid this will be a battle she fights her whole life.

Hair Color: Little blondie! Her hair is getting so long and SO thick! This child definitely got my big Greek hair. And it's CURLY!

Eye Color: She has eyes just like her daddy - they aren't really hazel but they definitely aren't blue or green and they have really cool flecks of gold in them.

Nicknames: Kenny, Buddy, Mou, Kenny Kakes, Squeezy, Kenners, KenKen, Kenny Pops

Milestones: I can't keep up. This child learns something new every single day. It just amazes me! And she is such a copy cat, she will see me or Jason do something ONCE and will start doing it. I guess it's officially time to be on our best behavior!

Interests: Kenley LOVES to dance. Every time she hears music she starts to do her own unique dance moves, it makes this former-dancer-mom SO happy. She also love to accessorize. This child cannot be without a necklace or hat or teething rings doubling and bangles. 

She is also OBSESSED with Bailey. Jason and I are a little salty because the puggles gets probably triple the hugs and kisses that we do. Her favorite shows are Bubble Guppies, Wallykazam, Mickey's Clubhouse and Doc McStuffins. Her favorite song is Talk Dirty to Me by Jasn Derulo {that's not a joke}. She loves more than anything to be outside playing at the park, swimming in the pool, chillin' in her stroller, or watching planes on the deck. And, her favorite person in the whole wide world is her mom...sadly, I'm kidding on that one, she is a complete and total daddy's girl.

Kenley :: 15 months!

My daughter is now 15 months + 1 week + 3 days old. 

HOW?!

It's been a while since I've done an update on the little lady, so it's due time I share what our toddler is up to. 

Kenley Stats: 

Weight: 24lb, 3oz {50th percentile}

Height: 32 inches {90th percentile}

Teeth: 7 pearly whites {Kenley LOVES to brush her teeth!}

Words: "Wow", "Mom", "Dad". She can also hiss like a snake and moo like a cow.

Sleep: Bedtime is between 7pm - 8pm and she will usually sleep until 7:30am. We've pretty much moved to one nap a day although most days she needs two, she just seems to think the afternoon nap is optional. 

Feeding: Girlfriend loves to eat! There isn't a food this little one doesn't like. Blueberries, yogurt, tomatoes and cheese are her favorites. AND, she's just about mastered using a fork!

Diaper Size: Finishing up a box of size 3 then moving to size 4.

Clothes: As of this weekend the 12 month clothes are all packed up. She still fits in Gap 12-18 month outfits, but those are getting snug. Time to shop for an all new 18 month Spring wardrobe.

Hair Color:  Blondie

Eye Color: Hazel in the middles and blue/gray on the outsides. 

Nicknames: Kenny, Mou, KenKen, Kenny Pops, Kenners, Kennels, Boogie

Milestones: Oh man, where to start? Since the last update we have a walker...Kenley had taken a few steps the week of her first birthday but still preferred crawling as her transportation of choice. She wobbled here and there but the day after Christmas she was officially off and walking. Now we're pretty much to a run and girlfriend does not stop moving.

Kenley also loves to "wear" everything. Anything she gets a hold of  {towels, laundry, blankets} instantly gets wrapped around her neck like a scarf, thrown on her head like a headband or put on her wrist like a bracelet. 

She also loves to brush her hair. She gets so excited after bath time to brush her own hair!

She will also pretend to brush her hair with things like my deodorant, my giant brush, her toys...pretty much anything.

Kenley also LOVES to read books. She will pick one out of the basket, bring it over to me and either ask to be lifted up on the couch or if I'm on the floor she backs her little booty up so she's sitting in my lap. I love it!

My absolute favorite thing that she does, is hold my hand. If I am walking somewhere and tell her to hold my hand she will reach up and grab it and walk with me. It does quite the number on my heart. Kenley has also started to help me feed Bailey and she gets so excited to do it. She will open the food container and scoop the food, with my help carry it over to Bailey's bowl and dump it in there, her favorite part though is putting the scoop back in the container and closing it. AND, no matter what she is doing if we say "Kenley it's time for nans" {we call sleep nans, not really sure why} she will drop what she is doing and go upstairs to her room.



Kenley is also a complete and total goof ball and we love her for it.

Yes that is my underwear. Yes it is clean {thank God}.

Can someone please explain to me how we are ONE MONTH away from my daughter's first birthday? Everyone always says to enjoy every minute with your baby because it goes so fast, but fast is truly an understatement. 

Baby Stats: 

Weight: 22 pounds

Sleep: Bedtime is between 7:30 and 8:30pm, wakes up between 6:30 and 7:30am and takes 2-3 naps during the day {a long one in the morning and two shorter ones in the afternoon}

Feeding: still getting six 5oz "ba ba's" a day with three solid food meals {breakfast, lunch, dinner and a snack}

Diaper Size: as of today, size 3

Clothes Size: Still wearing some of her 9 month clothes but moving in to the 12month, and a size 3 shoe.

Hair Color:  Blondie

Eye Color: Hazel in the middles and blue/gray on the outsides.

Milestones: Our little copy cat - you mimmick everything we do

Nicknames: Kenny, Mou, KenKen, Kenny Pops, Kenners, Kennels, Scoop, Boogie

My Kenley, 

What can I even say that I haven't already? You are my whole life. You make me and your daddy so very proud and our entire world revolves around you. This past month you have gotten so affectionate. I can't describe how full my heart feels when I see you smile when I walk in the room, or when you crawl over to me to give me a hug, or when you put your arms up for me to hold you or when you lay a big old slobbery kiss on my face. Even Bailey gets kisses!

You are so sweet and are as happy as a little clam, I don't think I've ever seen a kid who is so happy, all the time. You are also an incredible eater! You have decided that eating from a spoon is for babies and you now insist on feeding yourself. Purees are a thing of the past and finger food is now the only way you'll eat.

You are also becoming quite the copy cat. You love to watch mom and dad and then copy what we are doing, and we get the biggest kick out of it. You really are becoming less and less of our baby and more more our little girl. We have so much fun with you and can't wait for these crazy toddler years.

But for now, I'm going to soak up every last second of your first year.

I am like 2.5 weeks late on this {as usual} but nonetheless here's what Kenley was up to month 10.

Baby Stats: 

Weight: 21 pounds

Sleep: Bedtime is between 7:30 and 8:30, wakes up around 6:30am and takes 2-3 naps during the day {a long one in the morning and two shorter ones in the afternoon}

Feeding: still getting six 5oz "ba ba's" a day with three solid food meals {breakfast, lunch and dinner}

Diaper Size: 2

Clothes Size: Wearing 9 month clothes right now and FINALLY fitting into her size 3 shoes.

Hair Color:  Blondie

Eye Color: Hazel in the middles and blue/gray on the outsides.

Milestones: Standing without holding anything, sticking out tounge, first plane ride, first hair cut!

Nicknames: Kenny, Mou, KenKen, Kenny Pops, Kenners, Kennels, Scoop

she's so dang cute when she cries. 

My Kenley, 

Just when I think you couldn't possibly be any more fun, you are. You are the happiest little kid and we all have so much fun watching you discover all the new things around you. You still love to watch Mickey's Clubhouse and you scream {literally scream} with delight when you see him come on the screen. Your favorite thing to do is to chase Bailey, you think chasing after her is the funniest thing of all time. You are fascinated by lights - you love to find them, point to them and listen to mom count them. You also love to be outside. When the wind blows you squeal and you think touching leaves and pulling grass is pretty darn cool. 

You rode on your first airplane this month and did a great job! You are such an easy baby and I love that I can take you absolutely anywhere. 

You also got your first hair cut this month. You didn't really need it but we got to see your hair stylist Great Aunt Tina and since she gave me my first haircut I wanted her to give you yours as well. 

You are a smart little thing and I love that you are really starting to understand what we are saying. You know the word "no" and will even shake your head when we say it. You have learned to "give to mama" and will hand over whatever you are holding on to. You know the names of some of your favorite toys and will go get them when we ask you to. You will point to the lights when we say "where's the light" as well as point to daddy, mama, and Bailey. You also learned how to give kisses on demand but are pretty choosy about who and when you give them out. And even though your mom and dad don't have a musical bone in their bodies you LOVE to play the piano at Grandpa Tom & Grandma D's house. 

You really are just the best little thing ever and your mama and daddy love everything about you. We are so proud to be your parents and have so much fun watching your personality blossom.

Kenley :: 9 months!

My precious little Nugget was growing in my belly for exactly 9 months + 1 day and today marks exactly 9 months since the day she was born. 

I have literally spent every second of every day these last 18 months thinking of nothing but this precious gift. Kenley was a surprise. The best possible surprise. For whatever reason God thought this was the right time for Jason and I and I thank Him for my beautiful daughter every single day. 

Being a mom is unlike anything I ever could have imagined and Kenley will always be my proudest accomplishment. 

 

Baby Stats: 

Weight: 19 pounds! 

Sleep: Bedtime is between 7:30 and 8:30, wakes up around 6:30am and takes 2-3 naps during the day {a long one in the morning and two shorter ones in the afternoon}

Feeding: still getting six 5oz "ba ba's" a day with three solid food meals {breakfast, lunch and dinner}

Diaper Size: 2

Clothes Size: still in 6 month outfits but transitioning in to 9 month

Hair Color:  Blondie

Eye Color: Looks like the baby blues are here to stay!

Milestones: Starting to "talk"! "bababa", "dadada", and "mamama" is the currently vocabulary.

Nicknames: Kenny, Mou, KenKen, Squeakerdoo, Kenny Pops, Kenners, Kennels

My Kenny,

These last 9 months have flashed by in the blink of an eye. I am constantly in awe of you, the little miracle your daddy and I created. This has been such a fun month as your personality continues to grow. You are a little clown and you are well aware when you have an audience. You've started waving, clapping, and babbling - "dadadada" is your favorite thing to say. You are so busy and so curious. You are constantly on the move, I have a feeling this will continue your whole life. I have found myself holding you before bed just a little bit longer than usual as I know these cuddly baby days are limited. You are growing so fast and I love watching you get smarter and cuter and funnier every day. There's nothing I could say that would express how much I love you and how proud I am to be your mama, but just know that you are the absolute best thing that's ever happened to me.

I couldn't love you any possible more.

Kenley :: 7 Months!

I wrote this at the 7 month mark and took pictures at the 7 month mark but somehow forgot to combine the two and post them! So two weeks late, here's the update on Kenley's 7th month of life!

Weight: 

Sleep: Bedtime is between 7 and 8, waking up around 6am and taking 2-3 naps during the day

Feeding: still getting six 5oz "ba ba's" a day with two solid food meals.

Diaper Size: 2

Clothes Size: still in 6 month outfits

Milestones: Sitting Up! Major drool - a tooth has to be close! 

Nicknames: Kenny, Mou, KenKen, Squeakerdoo, Love Buggy, Boo Baby and a million more ridiculous things that come out of our mouths.

Kenley, 

Already another month older. It's been 7 whole months since the day we brought you in to this world and I love you more and more every single day. You are the.best.baby and everyone tells us so. It makes me so very proud to hear our family and friends and even strangers compliment me on what a well behaved and beautiful daughter I have. Your personality is coming out more and more and you are going to be a fun one, that's for sure. You love to squeal and squeak and "talk" to us. Your smile is infectious. The things me and daddy do (and all your grandparents too for that matter) to get you to smile are ridiculous. But, it doesn't take much, you are such a happy little girl. In this past month you've mastered sitting up and have really started to love playing with your toys and you are obsessed with Mickey Mouse. We play Mickey's Clubhouse for you and the second you see Mickey come on the screen you smile, squeal and kick your little legs as fast as you can.  Being with you and watching you grow and learn is absolutely the best thing I've ever done in my life. I find myself just staring at you trying to soak up every memory I possibly can as I know this sweet baby stage will soon be in the past. I get so sad when I think of you growing up and yet I am so excited to see you walk and talk and dance and do all the incredible things I know you are destined for. 

I couldn't love you any possible more my sweet girl.
