Flashin' Back

Randomly a couple of weeks ago (after finding my Tamagachi in a drawer--that's not a joke) I started to think back to all of my favorite childhood toys. The stuff that was popping in to my head was crackin' me up, so I had to take to the internet to find all these little gems and it TOTALLY brought me back to being little.

I simply HAD to share them with you to see who had these too, and which were your favorite! So fire up your Easy Bake Oven and get ready to head back to the early 90's.

First off, imagine my disgust when I googled "Littlest Pet Shop" and saw these creatures pop up.
WHAT THE HECK are those? They look like Pokemon!
The Little Pet Shop I remember are these bad boys:
and yes, I made sure to find pics of only ones i actually owned. I had A TON of these little guys!

OK, who remember Puppy Surprise?
I seriously LOVED that damn thing! I had this one:
Black and White, shocking, huh? But I got gipped and only had 3 puppies.

One of my all-time favorite toys was my Quints! Do you guys remember these? Five little babies, 3 girls and 2 boys. The had little numbers on their diapers and all the accessories came attached?
THE BEST!

Finally, this post would not be complete without some of the CLASSICS!

Polly Pocket:

American Girl dolls (I had Kirsten)

My Little Pony

And of course, TROLLS! The little tiny ones were my favorites!

What were your favorite childhood toys?

The Kentucky Priss Takes Over

Hey all you Busy Bee lovers.
Mrs. Thang AKA: Kristin asked me to throw up a guest post for her while she was SANS Blogger
on her little vacay with Jason and "nugget"

What. was. SHE. Thinking?

Anyway.

In case you have no clue as to who I am
I am the blogger behind

That's moi.

[273360_210601837_1199143007_n.jpg]

I thought it would be fun to do a little "finish the sentence" post- Kentucky Priss style, to give you a better "look" into who and what I'm all about and who knows, you might even want to read my blog.
AND it's fun learning other people's BIZ, right?

SO here we go:

If your house was on fire and you could only save ONE item, what would you save?
Daisy May.
No brainer.

Something that you find sexy in the opposite sex is...
Humility.

A guilty pleasure I have is ...
having a glass or 2 of vino on a work night.

...always makes me feel like a "million dollars."
Running.  Most people do it to clear their head, that's when I can really think.

I miss...
being loved by a boy?

Something I take pride in...
I can make friends at warp speed.
If it's the first time we've met, we won't walk away strangers.

I confess...
When I run with leggings, I go sans undies...that's not weird.

Something people might be surprised to know about me is...
I am extremely girly, but I am a sports FUH-NATIC.
I would rather go to a sporting event than a mall, anyway.

Something I would love to learn how to do is...
Golf!
My dream is to marry a golfer...not necessarily pro...but a golfer haha

I am extremely...
Nieve and hilarious.

Kristin is...
Gorgeous both inside and out and going to be an UHMAZING mommy.
And she didn't even tell me to say that.

Alright girls, Kristin should be back very very soon!

Our Weekend.

Happy Monday friends!
Anyone else NOT feeling this day? I really could have used one more day of weekend.

This weekend was LOVELY. For the first time in WEEKS, the hub and I didn't have any plans!

I came home from work on Friday to grilled steaks, pasta salad and bacon ranch potato salad, yes you heard me right, BACON.RANCH.POTATO SALAD.
Gotta love my hubby!

After my tummy was filled I snuggled up with my pup and read my book, which very quickly turned in to a two hour nap.

Then, Friday night we went to meet my dad for a few drinks, well, I had water.

Saturday, I got to spend the whole afternoon with my man. We went to the Albertville Outlet Mall which is about 45 minutes away from us. We shopped for about as long as Jason could handle and walked away with some great stuff! I got a new Puma track jacket, new tennis shoes (Reebok EasyTones were only $60 and were buy one get on FREE) and a dress from Old Navy. The boy also got a new track jacket and some new shoes AND was so very sweet and totally shocked me by buying me my push present! A COACH DIAPER BAG!!!!!!!!!
I am so obsessed! I cannot wait for the Nugget to arrive so I can use this bad boy!

We made sure to have a little fun too...we found a ton of fun 4th of July apparel at Old Navy and couldn't resist modeling them.
yup, we're cool

After hours of shopping, the boy treated me to a very romantic lunch at Dairy Queen!
We NEVER eat fast food, so it was actually a major treat to get some really greasy, disgusting food! Plus, you can't deny it, DQ has the best chicken tenders!

Saturday night we went to my in-law's to celebrate my brother-in-law's 21st birthday! In true Cinco de Mayo fashion we got him a bottle of really nice tequila.
as you can tell, he's not a fan of getting his picture taken.
The boys spent the evening in the basement drinking and playing pool, while I spent the evening on the couch with my 14-year-old sister-in-law watching movies. And I am NOT complaining! I mean, I would have loved a margarita but laying low and not being hungover on Sunday was awesome. We watched Now & Then, Sweet Home Alabama and Chronicles of Narnia (The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe).

Sunday morning we slept in until almost noon, which was INCREDIBLE! Then I somehow convinced Jason to join Bailey and I on a family walk. I was just dying to break in my new track jacket and easytone shoes.
I'm not wearing any makeup, please don't judge.
We went over three miles and my thighs and bootay were KILLIN' me!
Those shoes work, let me tell you!

The rest of Sunday we just lounged. I finished reading Fifty Shades of Grey and went to bed early to gear up for this fabulous Monday morning {please sense the sarcasm.}

What did you do this weekend?

My Belly {13 Weeks}

It's time for you to get excited, because for the next 27 weeks, every Thursday will be everyone's favorite BumpDates!
Cue eye-roll. Sorry folks, I've gotta do it!

But, at least you get to see photos of me and my ever-expanding waistline.
Starting with this:
Please excuse my photo...I had just gotten off a plane.
As you can see there's really not a bump to be found yet. I can notice a slight difference, but nothing noticeable yet...except for the insane increase in my chest.

Nugget this week...
*is growing vocal chords and teeth!
*already has fingerprints!
*and the intestines are making their way from the umbilical chord to their permanent home in the tummy.

Size of the baby?
Almost 3 inches long! About the size of a sweet lil Georgia peach.

Total Weight Gain/Loss?
I've gained just over 4 pounds.

Maternity Clothes?
I have one maternity tank top from Old Navy that I practically live in and a maternity swimsuit that I obviously have yet to wear. Aside from those essentials I think the plan is just to buy things as I need them and as my current clothes get too small.

Stretch marks?
No stretch marks but my tummy is super itchy from that stretching skin! My mom recommended using Olive Oil (could she be any more Greek?) so I'm going to start trying that and also am going to buy some cocoa butter ASAP!

Best Moments?
I had a doctor's appointment last week and the baby finally looks like a baby on the ultrasound. No more blob! Baby looks perfect, has a strong heart beat and is big for it's age (go figure).  I also got to hear the heartbeat for the first time and saw the baby move. It was the most incredible thing I've ever seen.
11 weeks + 6 days

Movement?
Not yet.

Food Cravings?
Really no cravings, but nothing ever sounds good. I literally have to force myself to eat.

Anything making you queasy or sick?
Nothing specific but I haven't felt all that great all week, which I think probably has to do with the really busy last couple of weeks and traveling.

What I miss?
Being able to sleep through the night without having to use the restroom.

What I'm looking forward to?
Seeing that baby bump! I'm at the awkward, "I've put on weight but don't have a bump" phase, so I'm looking forward to actually having a belly.

Nausea/Vomiting?
I've been getting queasy on and off throughout the day, usually if I haven't eaten in a while, but no vomiting, thank God!

Labor signs?
Still have a while before I need to start worrying about that!

Gender?
I was certain it was a girl, but now I'm totally feeling boy!

Belly Button In or Out?
Still IN.

Wedding rings On or Off?
All my rings are still on.

Sleep?
I'm still super tired all the time so I sleep really well, but I have to get up at least once to use the bathroom every night.

Wisdom?
My mom gave me some great wisdom when I was totally worn out and starting to lose my mind, she said, "Your body is working overtime, so you need to give yourself a break. You need to understand you're not going to have the energy to take on everything like you did before. It's OK to say 'no' and take time for yourself to rest."
TRUE DAT MAMA!

Check It

Whoop! Whoop! Whoop!
IT'S MAY!
I love May, cuz it means it's almost June and June is SUMMER!
And I LOVVVVVVVVVVE SUMMER!

Last month I put together an April To-Do-List...let's take a look and see how I did, shall we?

*Redo Master Bedroom.
Big fat fail. Our April weekends got booked up SO quick and I just never got the time to get the project done.

*Walk/Run 50 miles this month.
HA! Not even close. I think I went like 14 miles.

*Plan presents.
As I mentioned last month, we have A LOT going on this year! So I made myself a handy little spreadsheet to keep track of birthdays, showers, weddings, etc. and also to plan what I'm giving as a gift, where I'm getting it and how much it's going to cost!
I am happy to say the entire spreadsheet is filled out AND quite a few items have already been purchased!

*Save some money.

Shockingly we were able to put away a nice little chunk of money this month! Always feels good!

*Test drive and make a car buying plan.

I did test drive my little CRV and I absolutely LOVE it. I have some good ideas on the financial aspect and I am planning getting my new ride sometime this summer.

*Keep up on laundry.
I am completely shocked at how great we did on this. I have to give a major shout out to the husby because he was a big help on the laundry front as I was not the best at household chores this past month.

Now, for some things to accomplish in May:

*Organize photos.
I have so many camera and iPhone pictures stored on my computer. I need to clear them out! The plan is to add the ones I want to keep to Shutterfly and ditch the ones I don't need. I also need to get an album up on Facebook of all the pics from this past winter.

*Redo Master Bedroom.
This was on last month's list and I didn't get to it. This NEEDS to get done, so hopefully this month I'll find some time.

*Buy a crib!
I want to wait until we find out the sex to commit to nursery bedding and decor, but I am pretty sure I know the crib I want (girl or boy) so might as well get that bad boy purchased!

*Read a non-pregnancy related book.
I've been reading a ton of pregnancy and newborn books, which have been super helpful but it is time I get back into some more enjoyable reading. Any good book recommendations?

Here's to hoping this month is a productive one!
