Just Call me Ansel Adams

When I found out I was pregnant I knew it was absolutely imperative to purchase a new, nice camera. So imperative, in fact, that we spent a small fortune on this camera before buying a crib or any other essential baby supplies.

I mean, the baby can always sleep in a hamper, right?
But I NEED to have high-quality photos of my child.

This past weekend Jason and I bought a new Canon Rebel T2i and I absolutely LOVE it.
You may or may not know this about me but I was a photography major for my first few semesters in college. I decided to switch to something more broad, but I have always loved photography.
It's been years since I've shot with something other than my little point and shoot cameras so I was absolutely BUSTING at the seems to pull out the big dog.

My girlfriend, Courtney, and I took a photography class this past Monday and it was so awesome to get a refresher. I was afraid the whole photography game had changed since my 35mm glory days. But, as soon as the instructor said "F-stop" it all came rushing back.

I have pretty much been shooting non-stop and playing with different settings. I want to get back to the point where I'm only shooting on manual, and so-far so-good!

Lucky for me, I have some pretty adorable subjects who have been willing to model for me. Although the furry one isn't so patient when I'm messing with shutter speed. :)
Action shot: "here I come mom!"

And my favorite:
don't mind us, we're adorable.
Now, if y'all could help me find a way to convince the hubster I need some fun lenses and flashes....

Tell Me I'm Not Alone

I've always been one of those haters who thinks Uggs are the ugliest things ever! OK, they're not as ugly as Toms but they're close.

Sorry, I know you all hate me now.

But, I also realize that Uggs are ridiculously comfortable and fabulous for winter, so I totally get the craze. Plus I think these are actually pretty stinkin' cute.

BUT, today when I read on the Huffington Post that Uggs were coming out with a WEDDING LINE, yes a wedding line. I sort of wanted to cry.
Bailey I Do!
Sparkles I Do!
Fluff Flip Flop I Do!
Please tell me I'm not alone in thinking this is a complete insult to shoes and weddings and FASHION for that matter!

My Belly {15 weeks}

My tummy still hasn't popped, but I've definitely gained some weight...everywhere but where the baby is.
Awesome.

The Nugget this week...
-is squirming a ton! Even though I can't feel it yet.
-might be hiccuping!
-can move all the joints and limbs!

Size of the baby?
4 inches!!! About the size of an orange!

Total Weight Gain/Loss?
This is a sensitive subject this week. I have gained about 8 pounds, which is more than I should have gained at this point. I've been having a really hard time eating certain foods which has lead me to eat a TON of carbs...and we all know what that means. I'm trying really hard to get some more exercise and make better food choices to even out this weight gain. It's been really hard looking in the mirror, I do not feel cute.
(ps. I can't believe I'm sharing how much weight I'm gaining!)

Maternity Clothes?
I'm still in my regular clothes, but they aren't as comfortable. I've been LOVING maxi dresses and need to go out and stock up. You have no idea how good it feels to not wear pants!

Stretch marks?
Not a one! Holler!

Best Moments?
My doctor's appointment. I had another ultrasound this week and got to see the Nugget moving around. It's always a huge feeling of relief hearing that heart beating strong. I cry every time.
"Hi. I'm cute!"

Movement?
Can't feel the baby moving yet, but I've been having some cramping which apparently is the feeling of my uterus expanding. So even though I can't feel the Nugget, I definitely feel stuff going on down there.

Food Cravings?
 Pasta, Pasta, Pasta, Pasta!

Anything making you queasy or sick?
All meat and fresh veggies. Blegh.

What I miss?
 Summer cocktails.
It's been GORGEOUS here in Minnie and an ice cold Twisted Tea sounds like BLISS!

What I'm looking forward to?
Buying a fancy new camera to properly document the life of my child.

Nausea/Vomiting?
None at all. Thank you God.

Labor signs?
We don't think about labor yet.

Gender?
I'm really feeling a boy lately.

Belly Button In or Out?
It's still in.

Wedding rings On or Off?
All rings are still on!

Sleep?
I've been sleeping great. I still get up at least once to use the bathroom.

Wisdom?
All you can do is laugh. You all read this post a couple of days ago. When you feel like crap or are acting like a crazy person, all you can do is sit back and laugh. You can't ever take yourself too seriously, especially when you're a knocked up basket case.

Blogger Blind Date

Friends come and go and friendships change throughout the years but I have always been blessed with a really solid group of girlfriends. Sure those friends have changed and some have stayed the same, but I feel extremely lucky to have such amazing women in my life.
There is a lot to be said about "girl time." We all need it, that time with your girlfriends when you can talk about anything and everything. A time for you to vent and cry without being judged or a time to laugh until you feel like you're going to throw up.

Last night, I had some of that girl time.

I can't remember if I've mentioned this or not, but I signed up to the do the Color Run in July with Carolyn & Kelly! Well, I guess it's going to be more of a walk for me. Even though I could run while preggo it's really an inconvenient time for me to try to start training to run a 5k, especially since I hate running.
But that's besides the point.

Back on track.

Look at this ridiculousness! Cannot wait!
Since Carolyn & I hadn't met Kelly before, the three of us decided it was probably wise to meet up ahead of time, versus meeting for the first time when we're about to run and get smacked in the face with paint.

So, last night we did just that!

It was my first blog meet-up and it was SO exciting! I have to admit I was a little nervous, thankfully I had the Beeb with me.

We met up at Crave (one of my fave restaurants) and we had a blast!
Kelly was exactly what I expected her to be; totally laid back, sweet, funny and as cute as can be. The three of us couldn't have gotten along any better. In three hours we covered everything from blogging, babies, in-laws, whole wheat, and so much more.

You'd never have known that we had just met.
She may not do math in public, but I am so excited to have met Kelly and feel really lucky to now call her one of my girlfriends.

I can't wait until next time!
