{little} Fall Fashion Favorites

I think all of us mamas have our favorite place to shop for our kiddos and for me that place is 100% Gap Kids. They are not paying me to say this, but I really wish they would because I could spend a small fortune at that place. Kenley's style is not overly girly {no bows, flowers, smocking, ruffles, etc.} but of course I want her to look like a girl while being comfy for optimum playing - which is why I LOVE The Gap. For the most part Kenley is covered head-to-toe in Gap because they have everything from jammies to sherpa boots and it's ALL adorable. These are a couple of items we have picked up this fall along with a couple still on our list of things to buy.

Where is your favorite place to find little fashion?

Suited

SPRING BREAK BABY! Yes I am 29, no I am not in school, but this year I am absolutely taking a Spring Break! Woot! Woot! Woooooooot! Minnesota has been absurdly {like more absurd than normal Minnesota} cold / snowy / wet this winter so it became pret-ty clear that Kenley and I needed to head south to warmer climates. Next week we are off to visit my mom and have ourselves some FUN IN THE DANG SUN!
can I get a heck yes?!

This lovely little trip of ours poses ONE itsy bitsy teeny weeny yellow polka dot bikini problem, however. You see all of Kenley's swimsuits are size 6 month and all of my swimsuits could provide shelter for a family stranded in the rain.

So, I guess we have to shop for new swim suits! DANG! {<---- that would be sarcasm}.

I would like to say I'm looking for something along these lines...
Bud sadly, not yet, but maybe by summer? HA!

Anyways, I have been perusing online and have come across quite a few swimsuits for Kenley and I that I love. So I need your help....which are your favorites?

FOR MOM
I refuse to wear anything that doesn't have a way to remove straps from the situation...I HATE tan lines! Halter tops work best with my large chest, and I will usually just take down the straps and tie them around my back when I'm sunning myself. So with that in mind...which one should I get?

FOR LITTLE
Why are baby swimsuits the cutest thing ever?! Seriously, I want to buy ALL of this. But need to resist the urge and narrow it down to just one ensemble {for now}...but which one?

OK, what do you think?

be sure to visit my friend:

I am home from work today, hanging with my baby girl, as I just flew back from Vegas late last night. I am SO pumped to share my trip with you all - holy moly. But as I recover, who better to babysit my blog than my Beeb? She's here today to share her tips for styling a baby boy - and as you'll see from the photos of my "nephew" Weston, she knows what she's doing!

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hi there! I'm Carolyn, and I blog over at Life, Love & Puppy Prints!

I'm taking over Baby Talk today since Kristin is recovering from her adventure with Britney Spears in Vegas. (Don't get too attached Brit Brit - she's my Beeb!) Anyway... thanks for having me!

Having a baby boy is so much fun. Sure... tutus and pink is great, but there's something about little boy outfits that makes my heart melt. I've been dressing Weston for 5 months now, and I feel like I've learned a thing or two about dressing baby boys.

Here are some of my "must do" items for dressing boys:

1. tennis shoe socks
Putting shoes on babies is pretty much impossible, and pretty pointless since they don't walk yet. The perfect solution are tennis shoe socks. They are so much cuter than the basic white socks, and absolutely "finish" an outfit! Weston has these in so many colors... I love them!

2. bow ties & vests
When your baby boy needs to dress up for a special occasion... there's nothing cuter than a baby bow tie and vest. There are onesies with ties, vests and suspenders printed right on them that are absolutely adorable, or you can go all the way with real ties, suspenders and vests. They're all great options - you can't go wrong with a dressed up baby boy!

3. track suits
As much as I love the ties and vests, my number one rule for baby clothes is that they need to be comfy. What's more comfy than a track suit? NOT MUCH! All the sports brands make them, and they're all absolutely precious. Pair them with those tennis shoe socks and you've got a perfect outfit!

4. mini dad outfits
I LOVE when people dress baby boys in outfits that are like their daddy's outfits. Jake is a jeans and polo kind of guy, so every time I see a baby polo I melt. I haven't gone so far as to buy them matching polos, but I can't promise that I won't someday!

5. holiday attire
It's my firm belief that babies should be dressed festively for every holiday. When you're an adult, rocking those santa pjs all day isn't acceptable, so babies should enjoy it while they can! Plus - the adorable photo opps are pretty perfect.

6. sports team gear
We're huge Twins fans in our household, so it was pretty much a given that Weston would be rocking the blue and red, but he also loves cheering on NDSU in green and gold! Baby sports gear is perfect on boy and girl babies... but the thermal sleeves and mini jerseys for boys melt my heart!

7. "mommy is my favorite" shirts
I'm not trying to make Weston a mama's boy, but it's true - I am his favorite. I mean without me, he wouldn't have lunch. :) But seriously... I LOVE putting him in outfits that talk about how much he loves me. The "I love daddy/grandma/grandpa/auntie" shirts are pretty cute too I guess.

Black & Yellow

Depending on how long you've been following along, you may or may not know that this blog was formerly called Busy Bee. You also may or may not know that Jason and I used to own a coffee shop called Coffee Buzz. If you follow me on Pinterest, you may or may not have seen my Bee Happy board dedicated to all things Bumble Bee

Are you catching on?

Yes, it's true, I love bees. I'm not exactly sure where the love for bees came from but I think it had something to do with the fact that my high school mascot was a Hornet and my high school guidance counselor (who I love and is a close family friend) was named Mrs. B and I used to draw her little bee pictures of bees dressed up in different outfits. OK, that made me sound crazy but I honestly think that's where the obsession stemmed from.

Anyways, the love for bees has evolved into a love for the color palette of black, yellow, gray and white. If you don't believe me...take a look at Kenley's nursery

So last week my mom was in town and watched Kenley during the day while she was home. One of the days Kenley got to go on a Yia Yia & Mou shopping trip where her Yia Yia spoiled her pretty good. My mom knows of my love for Baby Gap and God love her always picks up some little treats from there. So I get home and look through the Gap bag and am pretty giddy with excitement. Either my mom shares my love for the color palette or knows me too well {I'm thinking it's actually both} because here was what was in the bag....
black and yello
Seriously, I can't handle it. {thanks mom! ♥}

So then over the weekend I was perusing Baby Gap's website, because I do that quite often and daydream of the adorable outfits I want to dress my daughter in and found that they have a TON of black, white, gray and yellow clothing this season. It's seriously making me want to dress Kenley in ONLY those colors this Spring {would that be weird?} Just LOOK at some of the other ensembles I could put together:
Bee
Oh Baby Gap, why must you do this to me? If only I could stumble across a couple hundred extra dollars and if Minnesota could just forget winter and hop right to spring, my Kenley would be the best dressed bumble bee on the block.

Christmas Pajama Party!

One of the traditions from Jason's family that I am really excited to incorporate into our own holiday tradition is opening jammies on Christmas Eve. Every year my mother-in-law gifts everyone in the family some new jammies then everyone changes into them and spends the rest of the night all snuggly watching Christmas movies. When I saw that some of my favorite bloggers were hosting a lil pajama party I knew it was the perfect opportunity to show off Kenley's Christmas and Christmas Eve jammies before wrapping them up and putting them under the tree.

I don't know what you mamas do to get your kids to sit still and pose in their outfits but you must be drugging them. I spent and hour of my day taking about 60 photos using Mickey Mouse, food, and sparkly stockings as bribery and I didn't get a single smile, not to mention a normal looking photo. Thankfully, the kid is pretty stinkin' cute in her jammies anyways.

Then, of course, once the jammies come off and the camera is put away she moseys over to the tree and looks absolutely adorable. Thankfully the camera is never too far out of reach.

Make sure to link up with me every Tuesday for BABY TALK! Just write a post about anything pregnancy, childbirth or parenting related and link it up with the fancy link up tool found below!
And don't forget to include by Baby Talk button in your post!

Holiday Baby Style

The only thing more fun than decorating for Christmas is shopping for holiday outfits for Kenley. I absolutely love having a baby girl to dress up and the holidays are no exception!
Here are a few of the looks that are in the running for this holiday season:

I may end up just buying everything, we do have 4 Christmases every year, so the girl should have options.

Baby Talk :: The Style File

Does anyone else feel like they need a few more days off to recover from the long weekend? I sure do! Lucky for me the one thing that is sure to put me in a good mood is looking at and shopping for baby clothes!

Today is not only my weekly Baby Talk link up {mamas and mamas-to-be join me every Tuesday!} but I am also joining one of my favorite mom bloggers, Julie, and her mom blogger friends for their Kid Tested, Mom Approved Link Up Party!

Today's topic of interest is BABY CLOTHES!

I don't know why people go so bananas over baby clothes but I am definitely guilty as charged. Dressing Kenley is so fun and I've loved giving her her own little style over the past 9 months.
Now that it's officially fall and Kenley seems to grow every day, we need to update her wardrobe with some warmer fall and winter clothes. My absolute favorite baby store is Baby Gap and today you get to feast your eyes on some of my fall favorites for Kenley.
