Bathroom MakeOver

We have lived in our townhouse for three years and I am just getting around to the redecorating projects that I have wanted to do since we moved in. I can't lie...the wedding gifts helped quite a bit in terms of motivation.

The first project undoubtedly had to be the master bathroom....it was hot mess. Here are a couple of before pictures to prove it:

Yes that is what the sink looked like. And yes, it was almost always like that. And yes, it drove me absolutely crazy!

I started the make-over by completely stripping and cleaning the bathroom.
I taped, then painted, cleaned again, organized and the decorated! I am so happy with how it turned out AND thanks to some handy organization....
...the counter has stayed clear and clean!

So, without further adieu, the before and after photos!

Recent Purchases.

Tis the season of giving, and let me tell you...I LOVE shopping for Christmas presents. It might be one of my all-time favorite things. Sure, it's great getting gifts during the holidays but my favorite part, truly, is giving them.

Nonetheless, I just got married and just had a birthday so it was sort of inevitable that I would grab a thing or two for myself and our home {thanks to some pret-ty generous peeps}.
Here's the recent goodies I have treated myself to:

ALL NEW MAKEUP!
My incredible mom and step-dad got me new Smashbox makeup brushes for my birthday along with a very generous Macy's gift card so that I could upgrade my makeup, which I so desperately needed to do. I've mentioned several times my love for Smashbox makeup and my homegirl Misha at the SB counter hooked me up!

I got Sheer Focus Tinted Moisturizer {to use as my foundation}, the Brow Tech Trio {to shape and beautify my brows}, Halo Hydrating Perfecting Powder, Powder, Fan, Contour, Angle Brow & Shadow brushes, Photo Op Eye Shadow Trio, my favorite product the Photo Finish along with the Finishing Powder,  HyperLash Mascara and my go-to Bronzer! Now I can look like this every day:
My husband is not cool.

NEW RUGS!
I am redoing our master bathroom and am PUMPED about it! We got all new towels and a shower curtain for the wedding but I forgot to register for matching bath rugs. But, no fear, thanks to a return and a super sweet gift card from Katie & Billhead I was able to snag these:

 NEW CARD HOLDER!
I need a place to keep my business cards, and they take up too much room in my wallet so enter Michael Kors and this adorable Logo Card Holder.

POT ROCK!
Space and organization is a major issue in our kitchen, so I got this Bookshelf Pot Rack from Crate & Barrel to give us some extra storage.
I love it! It's been working out great!

NEW DUDS!
I am in desperate need of some new clothes, so I probably should have spend a little more time and money looking for pieces to enhance my wardrobe. But, I found a couple of great things from Express and that was enough, for now.
Wide leg slim fit jeans, chiffon overlay shirt and a leather and rhinestone cuff bracelet.
NEW WALLET!!!!!!!!!!!!
You guys....I have wanted a Coach wallet for as long as I can remember. I have a couple of little Coach wristlets but I have always wanted a beautiful Coach purse and luxurious Coach wallet. I have never had the means to buy either r if I did have the means I would talk myself into something more practical. Well not this year! I'm 27, I just had a birthday and dammit I deserve a new wallet! So ladies and gentleman please let me introduce you to my new friend, the Madison Gathered Leather Accordion Zip Wallet in Midnight!

Lights. Chandelier. Action.

During Project Coffee Buzz, I had the daunting task of picking out all of the interiors before construction even started. That's right folks, I had to pick out the floor, paint colors, fireplace, counter-tops, lighting, everything before this little shop even had walls! Although it wasn't easy, it was loads of fun. The part that I was really dreading was picking out  lighting. In my mind there was nothing less exciting than different styles of track lights, that is until I found these bad boys:
My beloved wall sconces! These little puppies were the inspiration for the rest of the design elements in Coffee Buzz. I was (a hem, am) so utterly in love with them that the day they were hung I started to cry! I found them in the very, very early stages in a Thomasville Lighting catalog, I knew I had to have them. My mom and I went to Southern Lights in Burnsville and to my surprise....THERE THEY WERE! My mom and I spent the better half of the afternoon in that store and I have been back three times since, who knew lighting could be so much fun?

So now everywhere I go I am checking out the lighting! I have become obsessed, especially with chandeliers! And now I spend a substantial amount of time shopping for chandeliers I can't afford for the house I don't have. But when I do get that dream house and do have the money to spend on pimping it out with lighting I'll be ready! Here are some of my favorites:
I LOVE this one for a bar area! They're little martini glasses! It is so cute and so original! It would look great over a bar-height table or a bar itself!
This one would be perfect for over the pool table I will undoubtedly have (right J?) It's hard to see from this picture, but there are mini pool balls in the center! So cute!

This one I would LOVE for a bathroom! I love the pattern on the shades! You could do all kinds of cool paint colors and towels with this pattern and I love the metal swirls!

Even though this is quite a ways off, I have always wanted to do a chandelier in a little baby girl's nursery! I am absolutely in love with this one! It would go beautifully with any color scheme and it's so elegant yet whimsical. I love, love, love it!

While we're on the topic of kids, how amazing would this colorful chandelier be in a kid's playroom? I have this vision of a room full of primary colors with tons of crafts and toys and this amazingly massive chandelier right in the middle!

I love this one for a master bedroom or an entry way, depending on it's size. It's classic, elegant and unstated.

I have no idea where I would put this but I absolutely love it! And, it's only $116! I'm tempted to buy it now just to have for the future!

This one I would use to bring out my inner Carrie Bradshaw and put it in a walk in closet! Don't those lights just scream Sex & the City? I love it!

And now the Mack Daddy of them all........

Thomasville
This bad boy is from the same Thomasville Midnight Walz collection as my precious sconces. When I saw this in person I tried to hug it. I am so in love with this chandelier! If I don't have this in my dining room someday I might just die.
